When I think of passages I think of the passage of time and the evolution of ideas over a passage of time. For many years I have been painting pictures of the “royal couple” birds and have had a lot of fun putting them into different scenes and environments. When researching other birds to paint I have often seen interesting birds who had a regal or interesting presence and that led to putting together a painting of the Royal Court this year. An offshoot of this idea is this painting, which is called the Royal Florists.
