“The challenge of working with glass is addictive. The intensity of colour, the complexities of heating and cooling, the precision required to cut odd shapes, thick glass or deep curves. What can I add – paint, enamels, copper, mica? My mind wanders through all of the possibilities and is happy.”
Betty is a Saskatoon based artist, originally working with clay. She took a fused glass workshop with Lee Brady, a renowned Saskatchewan glass artist and was hooked. Following a year-long mentorship, also with Brady, she has been fusing enamels onto glass using the skills that she has acquired painting with watercolors, gouache and acrylics.
Betty’s work can be seen/purchased at Handmade House in Saskatoon or from her through Instagram or email.
